Why You Need to Consider the Electromagnetic Compatibility of Your Product

If you’re in the business of manufacturing electronics, or products that contain electronics, you have probably heard the term “electromagnetic radiation.” But what does that mean for your product? Is that even something you have control over? The answer is yes, and there are many reasons to apply this to your chain of manufacturing.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Means Quality

Too much electromagnetic radiation is bad. The damage can be both operational and physical. Whether it’s coming from your own product or from outside sources, it can hinder the performance and accuracy of electronics. If your product is medical or sensory in nature this could even mean life or death. So why would you want to get in your own way? Avoid Legal Complications

If you aren’t convinced by anything else, complying with electromagnetic compatibility regulations will save you money. If you want to avoid fines and wasted product manufacturing due to recall, don’t cut corners on this important aspect of your product. Although not everybody gets caught, why take that risk? For some product types and geographic regions, this is even mandated, so make sure you know what is required of you.

Protect the Spectrum

The part of the electromagnetic spectrum that our electronics use is finite. We don’t want to crowd it with unnecessary radiation. Do you want your product to continue to work in the future? Participate in the minimal creation of electromagnetic output. Doing what’s best for everybody is also in your best interest. Important technologies like radio and microwaves depend on this!
